Nexus is an import coordination and consulting company. We help you search for eligible vehicles, communicate with sellers and exporters, connect you with a licensed customs broker and transport options, and keep the stages, questions, and handoffs organized so you always know the next step and who owns it.

Is Nexus a dealership or exporter?

No. Nexus is not a vehicle dealer, seller, exporter, auction house, licensed customs broker, freight forwarder, ocean carrier, motor carrier, port operator, or Importer of Record. We coordinate between you and those independent providers.

What vehicles can be imported?

Our coordination focuses on vehicles that are eligible for import under the 25-year rule, which generally covers vehicles manufactured at least 25 years ago. Eligibility depends on the specific vehicle and applicable federal requirements, so we review each request individually and you should confirm requirements with the appropriate authorities or a licensed customs broker.

Does Nexus find vehicles from dealers and auctions?

Yes, when vehicle search is part of your selected service. Nexus searches dealer listings, auction sources, and other appropriate seller sources, asks sellers the needed questions, and requests additional photos, documents, or condition details when we believe it is necessary or when you ask.

Who buys and pays for the vehicle?

You do. Customers pay sellers, exporters, brokers, carriers, ports, and transporters directly unless a separately approved arrangement applies. Nexus charges only for coordination services.

What is included in Full Import Service?

Accepted Answer

End-to-end coordination across seller communication, purchase, shipping, customs, and delivery handoff. Determined by scope of work, not by who found the vehicle. Pricing is $1,250 + 4% of vehicle value (capped at $2,500).

How does the $500 deposit work?

The $500 deposit begins the work and is credited toward your total Nexus service fee. It is not added on top of the fee.

What does Vehicle Finder include?

Nexus identifies and organizes possible vehicles while the customer manages the remaining transaction stages. It is primarily search and seller-information support at $500, and you manage the remaining transaction stages.

What does Customs Coordination include?

Nexus can connect you with a licensed customs broker (or work with yours) and facilitate communication and document follow-up. Nexus is not a customs broker and does not file entries. The fee is $350.

Does Nexus file customs entries?

Accepted Answer

No. Nexus does not file customs entries, determine required filings, or act as your broker. The licensed customs broker identifies and files what is required; you and the relevant third parties provide the documents. You approve, contract with, and pay the broker directly.

How does Delivery Coordination work, and who selects and pays the transporter?

Nexus can connect you with transport-company options and coordinate the pickup and delivery handoff. You approve, contract, and pay the transporter directly. The fee is $300. You select the transporter, review authority and insurance, contract directly, and pay them directly. Nexus is not a motor carrier.

Are third-party costs included in Nexus fees?

No. Nexus fees cover coordination only. Vehicle purchase price, Japan-side fees, ocean shipping, customs duties and government charges, port and release fees, transport, and title or registration costs are paid to those parties directly.

Are cost-calculator results guaranteed?

No. Calculator outputs are planning estimates based on conservative assumptions. They are not a quote, contract, invoice, customs determination, or guaranteed landed cost.

Can Nexus help after a vehicle has already been purchased or shipped?

Yes. Many customers reach out mid-process. Depending on where things stand, we can help with customs coordination, delivery coordination, or broader support, and we will tell you what is realistic at that stage.

Does Nexus support Guam customers?

Yes. Guam imports can involve different local requirements and coordination steps than mainland U.S. imports, so we review each Guam inquiry individually before recommending the appropriate scope of support.

Does Nexus guarantee vehicle condition or delivery timing?

No. Nexus does not guarantee vehicle condition, seller or auction statements, shipping schedules, customs outcomes, port release timing, delivery timing, or final costs. Those depend on independent parties.
